Social media is an outstanding tool for businesses – large and small alike.

However, one thing I see over and over again is the false notion that simply having a social media presence is enough to widen the sales funnel and boost profits overnight.

At this year’s LPIA Innovation Conference, I will be speaking about what you actually need to do in order to grow your business with social media.  I am thrilled to be afforded this opportunity because social media for business – your business – is something I truly believe in.

Presentation Preview

During this presentation, which is entitled “Connect, Build, Sustain: Growing Your  Business with Social Media“, I will shed light on the importance of understanding how your target audience uses social media.

This includes items such as:

  • Knowing what networks they use
  • Knowing when they use them
  • Knowing how they use them

I will also discuss ways that you can drive traffic from your social networks to your website. This is a key step that many companies miss — but that is an essential step for generating leads and sales!

Social media, search engine optimization, website design, strategic plans and tactics all are necessary cogs in your business machine.

After my presentation, you will be equipped with actionable ideas and practical advice borne from successful case studies.

Are You Ready to Move Forward?

Social media, despite its inherently creative appearance and perception, very much needs a hard and fast plan behind it.

I cannot stress enough the importance of a carefully crafted plan fleshed out to best benefit your company. Your accounts will need to be updated regularly with engaging, educational and inspiring content. A sports car is no good if there is no gas in the tank.

Social media can, and will, work for you.

I hope to see you at my session at this year’s LPIA Innovation Conference to get you started on the path to profit.

I promise that when I’m done, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and tools to start connecting, building, and sustaining success through online marketing efforts.

My presentation is scheduled for Friday, November 9th at 2:15 PM.

When it comes to social media, many companies primarily focus on the task of creating, finding, and distributing content.

That certainly is an important aspect to one’s online marketing efforts.

However, when it comes to truly unlocking the potential power of social media, it really is only part of the equation.

Social Media as a Listening Tool

One of the other big areas where companies should focus is in using social media as a listening tool.

There is so much data being shared on social networks each day. There are hundreds of millions of Tweets and Facebook posts. There are pictures and videos being posted every second.

By putting forth the effort to mine that data, businesses can uncover key insights and trends.

How can they do that effectively?

Well, I am quite excited to say that I’ll have the chance to speak on that exact topic at the upcoming Integrated Print Forum!

Session and Event Details

The Integrated Print Forum is being put on the folks at the Printing Industries of America (PIA) association.

It will take place on Monday, October 29th and Tuesday, October 30th.

The session that I’ll be speaking on is titled “Tracking Tools for Super Sleuths: Managing Your Social Engagement.”

My session will occur on Monday the 29th from 2:00-2:50 p.m.

During this session, I will share a variety of strategies and tools that you can use to effectively incorporate a social media listening strategy.

I will cover items such as:

  • A list of the listening tools that are available for social media
  • What kind of investment is needed in social media, from beginner to advanced users
  • Tools and strategies for discovering and connecting with one’s audience

I look forward to discussing those items and more at this event!

One Final Thought

Now, the big question is this — Will I see YOU at the Integrated Print Forum?

I hope so!

In the meantime, make sure to listen to (and engage with!) the social media chatter about #IPF2012!

I love marketing.

I’ve had a passion for it for as long as I can remember. I had a passion for marketing when I was running a cleaning business while I was in school (many years ago!), and I have it today as CEO of interlinkONE and Grow Socially.

And while I also truly believe that marketing can be a lot of fun, I also know how critical it can be for your business.

As marketers, we face more pressure than ever before to drive qualified leads to our sales team, and to prove the value of each and every action that we do.

Those are just two of the reasons why I am so excited to be able to speak about how YOU can benefit from Inbound Marketing.

Learn about Inbound Marketing at the Bridge Conference

On August 8th, at the 2012 Bridge Conference, I will be delivering the presentation “How Inbound Marketing Can Work for You”.

No matter what your business objectives may be — whether it’s to attract new prospects, increase customer loyalty, generate more awareness and demand, etc. –inbound marketing tactics can help you to achieve your goals.

During my presentation at the Bridge Conference, I will provide actionable insight and ideas to help you effectively build, manage, execute, and measure, inbound marketing initiatives.

Some of the items that we will cover include:

  • Developing an inbound marketing strategy that will be tailored to your business needs
  • Using social media to effectively reach more prospects and customers
  • Converting your website into a lead-generation machine
  • Taking steps to humanize your brand and promote your cause and/or benefits
  • Creating content that can be used for each step of the buying cycle — from generating an inquiry to converting a lead into a sale
  • Measuring the impact of your inbound and outbound marketing tactics
  • And more!

At the Bridge Conference, I will share stories and case studies that cover how other companies have successfully implemented inbound marketing tactics that are working for them right now.

I promise that you will leave this presentation feeling passionate, energized, and equipped to succeed with inbound marketing!

I hope to see you in D.C. on August 8th!
