Rocky Balboa had Mick. Luke Skywalker had Yoda. interlinkONE has Adam Meixler.
Every company needs a mentor. A guru. Someone with all the solutions. No matter the issue, Adam has an answer. When it comes to technology and development, one would be hard-pressed to find someone more knowledgeable than Adam. A member of the interlinkONE team since his high school days, he has seen the company grow and change – and has been integral in all of it.
“I’ve done a ton of things here over the years,” said Adam. “The job has changed a bunch. When we first started and interfaced with customers in the early 2000’s, not everyone had IT guys that were knowledgeable with the internet. We did a lot of explaining about FTP, answering questions about how to get on the internet. Now I talk to customers more on a support role, customizing or building for them, how they can better use the system.”
Adam’s origin story with interlinkONE is classic. A sophomore at Wilmington High School in the late 1990’s, Adam received a call from a “random guy” who had heard Adam “was good with computers.” This guy was, of course, John Foley.
“So I say no, I blow him off,” Adam said.
A couple weeks go by and Adam began to reconsider. He was only 16 at the time, but ended up coming down to the office to talk with John. They eventually worked out a deal and Adam has been a cornerstone of the company ever since.
Adam’s main focus during work is to keep stability and normalcy – even though his days tend to have everything but those qualities.
“There are some tasks that are always on my mind, stuff that isn’t written,” said Adam. “It’s about stability, it’s about the servers and the service is up for everyone at all times. It ranges from the phone and mail systems here, to the ordering system, Qreate & Track and iFlyMobi, all of it.”
Adam also shares information internally. He delivers important news on the company’s inner workings across all departments – development, IT, support, marketing and sales.
When the day’s work is done, that doesn’t mean Adam’s fascination with tech ends. “I’m a dork, I like the technical stuff,” he said. “I like the new hardware. I love new performance tuning. When you have a database that isn’t performing well, and you can save a tenth of a second across a large number of records, that’s huge. That’s the stuff I like.”
Adam is also an avid skier, as well as a bit of a daredevil. “I love going fast, whether it is in a boat, a car, whatever.”
Anyone who works, or has worked, for interlinkONE and Grow Socially knows just how important Adam is to the team. He’s the man with all the answers. And perhaps has the greatest beard this world has ever known.
